Standard

And its mostly on days
I play pretend being dead
The world is quiet
And my soul can’t find refuge in anything
So my heart looks for a place to seek shelter from the lonesome air around me
And it runs towards you
My safe place
My home
My solace
My one and only refuge
You

My body is no temple

Standard

I have read a lot of books
That tell me
How my body is a temple
I should consider it sacred
Worship and respect it
Because, if not me
Then who?
I’ve read a lot of poetry
On intentions and aspirations
How positive energy heals my temple in rubble
I wish that I could tell them
I do not consider
This body of mine
A temple
My body is no shrine
No place for the holy
It is a forest
In between is a swamp
You will find only twisted pathways
Wetlands that will drown you
A bottomless pit
For an excuse of a heart
A shallow hole that only wants
It functions on parasitic needs
The canopies have poisonous snakes
Spiders hide in the ground
If you think this is
Young, wild and free
I am sorry
To deceive you with my words
It is a forest
That does not give birth to life
It is overshadowed by rage and cruelty
Left by inhabitants that once tried
To make a home of it
It is not free
The vines will trap you
Hang you in mid-air by your throat
If you dare venture in too deep
There is nothing saintly cherished in the atmosphere
So, if you think that this body is a temple
Go look somewhere else
Because, this is a forest
Thick and Cruel
It will devour your heart
Make you a fool

Twilight and Autumn

Standard

One day I will meet you

Under the vanilla sky

Twilight will smile at us

Our troubles will be a thing of the past

Till we meet, love

This is all I have

This is all I will ever have

I will seek you one day

On the slope beneath the willow tree

Autumn will kiss us on our cheeks

We will finally stop playing hide and seek

Till we meet, love

This is all I have

This is all I will ever have

I will find you

You will stop searching for me

Our thoughts will save us for once

Words will be enough for once

Till we meet, love

This is all I have

This is all I will ever have

Time will slow down its pace

Minutes won’t run like seconds

Hours will be like days

Everyone that you ever loved will be there

Till we meet, love

This is all I have

This is all I will ever have

A while, for a little while

The world will be ours to keep

I will be the lucky charm in your pocket

You will be the gold trumpet around my neck

Till we meet, love

This is all I have

This is all I will ever have

2=7

Standard

This isn’t the type of poem
Where I say that I’m lost in the world
Hoping to be found
Or that the first person that comes to my mind when I’m blue
Can save me from my past demons

But, I will say this
Truth is, I’m not that lost as much as I’ve found myself
Being at a standstill is okay
Desperation and longing only fuel the fire
I’ll move when I’m ready to move

So, I have time till this life ends
God, knows how much I have left
But it is enough, i’ll pretend
2+2 isn’t 4
I think it is 7 and I’m allowed to be weird

People will crash into me
Or just pass me by
Some right things will go wrong
A lot of wrong things will just fit in right
I like to call this part “experience”, in my life

I can be 6 feet under
Or above the world
I’m allowed to walk into the room like a blizzard
Even become a gentle wave in someones life
I’m allowed and so are other people because we change

A friend taught me today
That what I may want
Might not want me
But, life is a game of charades
Either way it is fun to play

Hey, awake?

Standard

Your favorite quotes can tell a lot about you

When you put it up as your status

Or your favorite song

Why do you switch it on when you’re both driving around?

I heard you like to read that book, again and again

When the world has you down, it is all there is

Your favorite person can tell wonders about your soul

Even when you haven’t talked to them in ages

And so when you’re tucked in bed

Trying not to think about the world

You read Bukowski

Wonderwall starts playing in the background

And all you could do is reach out

With a

“Hey, awake?”

Wonderful, isn’t it?

Standard

Sometimes the walls close up on me

And then by the door stands sadness

As I curl in with my sins

Sometimes the walls close up on me

It seems like a carousel

A kaleidoscopic pattern of future dreams

Hanging in between hope and despair

It seems like a carousel

Am I alive or long dead?

Questions that cannot be answered

By the living or the dead

Am I alive or long dead?

I would chase down my demons

It is a pattern of loathing

As I run away farther but only come close to myself

I would chase down my demons

I think that the world inside is more colorful

Never coloring within the lines

Telling myself more truths than lies

I think the world inside is more colorful

A lovers wish

Standard

I’ve wished on shooting stars to be near to you
So that I could feel your breath on the nape of my neck
Fall asleep in your arms
Knowing that even if the world falls apart
I’d be one lucky motherfucker to die in my lovers arm

I’ve tossed a lot of coins in the wishing well outside the city
Hoping that your face was the one that I would wakeup to
If not today then God, please make it someday
Morning snuggles
Evening giggles
And dinner date plans
It doesn’t have to be like the movies
We can just sit in bed all day and listen to what you have to say about life
I would give everything and anything just to hold your hand right, now

And its mostly after midnight
When the world goes quiet
And my soul can’t find refuge in anything
So my heart looks for a place to seek shelter from the lonesome night
And it runs towards you
My safe place
My home
My solace
My one and only refuge

To him

Standard

Holding your hand in the crowd felt much better
Than walking the pavements alone
I’ve always been a loner at heart
My soul doesn’t feel the need to be with people
But, with you it yearns a lot more
It was easy to be on my own
Then you came along and all I wanted was to put my head on your shoulders
Gaze at the star kissed sky
I’ve always wondered why the moon never gets tired
Of orbiting the earth
Always being pulled closer by the gravitational pull
Never does is collide
And now the answer seems simple
Because, i’ve become the moon
Always and forever
Orbiting around you
Never far
But tragically, never near
