The plague

Standard

Sadness is a lot like plague. One day you wake up to realize that you have the deadly sickness. Something in my body hurts. The pain has no source as I coil up in between sheets and cry. All I utter are empty prayers to a God who I only crawl back to when I’m down with the plague.
Have you ever seen smog in mid-winter covering the city? It feels a lot like that inside my chest. My bones have become hollow and crooked. The dim sunlight steals a glimpse into my room through the curtains as the fan sings a familiar tune. The plague paints everything in shades of sickness. Lost friendships and broken bonds ooze out of my veins like blood gushes out as it meets the blade.
Suddenly, all that I have ever tried to hide stares me in the face. Monsters under the bed and skeletons in my closet come out to dance-they dance under the sun. Demons don’t hide in darkness, that is a myth. They walk and dance under the shining sun.

Sadness is a lot like plague, love. One day you realize that you have been cured but still wait for it to creep up on you someday soon.

Remember the time you were scared of the dark?
The truth is that it still scares you
But you learned to keep your eyes shut tight till dawn
Maybe, because you learned that everything in life goes away
If you ignore it with twice the coldness
You survived, didn’t you?
No monsters got you from under the bed
The dark demons hushed into a corner

Peaking daylight reminds you that it is another day
You are saved, again
Another day when you realize
That,
The dark holds no demons and it’s you all along
And nothing scares you more than yourself
So you choose to remain ignorant to it as well

Talking to my voices

Standard
When I was 5
They taught me how to pray
Kneel to the ground and call out his name
I did and we talked till the morning light
He would listen and I would speak

When I was 10
They locked me up
Behind white walls and closed doors
God, doesn’t talk back-you delusional child
But, I swore he talked back to me

When I was 12
I figured out the worlds game
I learned he talked in many ways
He talked to me and I to him
Not necessarily for the world to know

When I was 16
He stop talking
I heard now, laughs and screams
I knelt on the ground and called out his name
This time God didn’t talk back to me

When I was 18
I knew it was about to ruin me
The sin of reaching out to heaven
Was mine and mine alone
My mind was out to perish me and I had no savior

Now, I’m 20 and I learned it the hard way
Tamed the voices and the screams
Talk to your demons and the Holy deity
Just let them be free inside your head
But always cuff them when you need

Don’t look back

Standard

Don’t look back. Didn’t I tell you? Just don’t look back. It never does you any good. Hear me? It never does. Never look back. I keep on repeating this but you never seem to listen. If you have to close a door then shut it behind you but never look back.

If you drop something then leave it there. No point in going back to pick it up. Leave it. Don’t look back. Never look back. I keep on repeating this but you never hear me. Listen to me once. Don’t look back. If the voices call you and scream your name just don’t look back.
Don’t open the doors you have once closed. Never open them. You closed it off for a reason in the first place. Never chase anything that will lead you back. Never do. Keep you face forward and your eyes always ahead. If you have to look sideways then do, but never look back.
Looking back never does anyone good. It doesn’t. The most awful part is that looking back can be consuming. You wouldn’t want to be consumed so deeply and not get out.
Make it simple and never look back. Cut off all that holds you back and never look back. Never do. You left it for a reason there so now learn to walk ahead.
It might try dragging you from your collar or your legs but please don’t look back. No matter how desperate the call is never look back. It can play manipulative tactics to convince you to look back but please, hear me, never do.

For, looking back will only haunt you and bring pain. Hear me, never look back.

*He kept on repeating these words every single day on the sidewalk be it summer, winter or autumn.*

Dead or Alive

Standard

Wanted dead or alive
My soul
I think I lost it
Sold it for a few grams of hash
The buyer laughed as I showcased it for so low

But
I think I killed it a long time ago
It was dead when I sold it
Drowned it in alcohol
Burnt it with cigarettes

Wanted dead or alive
My soul
If you find it let me know

Human

Standard

1-19-08-bathing_in_the_graveHear me for I am human

Hear me for I am a soul

Trapped in an earthly vessel

Made up of stardust and gold

Came into this world covered in blood

Decaying the minute, my existence fashioned

Following footprints of men before me

Then is my entity different then who came before me?

Instilled with concepts and ideas since birth

Destiny, Fate, Prayers and Freewill

Angels, Demons, Creatures, and God

Illusion, reality a haze in all

To be with nature I destroyed it all

Followed a path for a lost cause

Destroyed and ruined fertile lands

Killed and betrayed my fellow men

Termites in my roots

A captive of my thoughts

Like and empty glass

Waiting for humankind to fall

Cheated and betrayed

Loved and lost

Encountered it all

And broke like a china doll

Gathered up my bits

And glued them up

For I am human

Better than all?

Life then came to a halt

And I realized late to change the past

Guilty and remorse is now what remains

My footprints not different from others after all?

Lying in this grave dark and cold

Dear ones crying on my stone

Now nothing can be done for the time is gone

Now I shall say forevermore

Hear me for I am human

Hear me for I am a soul

Trapped in an earthly vessel

Made up of stardust and gold
